Technical Project Manager, Assessment

Esri Canada has an exceptional opportunity for a Technical Project Manager to join our Assessment Department.

Reporting to the Director Software Development for Assessment, The Technical Project Manager facilitates agile delivery activities for complex software development initiatives within the Assessment Product Development team. The role supports agile planning, coordination, and delivery processes across multiple initiatives while working closely with developers, product owners, quality assurance specialists, and stakeholders to help deliver geo-enabled property assessment software products that meet business and technical requirements.

This role is fully remote within Canada.

A day in the life of a Technical Project Manager at Esri Canada:

  • Facilitate, plan and deliver agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Coordinate delivery activities across product development team members to support sprint and release objectives.
  • Identify and help remove impediments affecting team productivity and delivery timelines.
  • Facilitate backlog refinement activities and maintain visibility of priorities, dependencies, and risks.
  • Monitor sprint progress and communicate delivery status, risks, and issues to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Coordinate release planning and activities related to software releases, patches, and hotfix deployments.
  • Promote adherence to agile practices and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the development team.
  • Support collaboration among developers, quality assurance specialists, product owners, and other stakeholders to achieve delivery objectives.

What you bring to the team:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in information technology, computer science, software engineering, geomatics, business, or related field.
  • An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in agile delivery, project coordination, Scrum Master, software development, or related technology roles.
  • Experience supporting software development projects within an agile delivery environment.
  • Experience facilitating collaboration among cross-functional technical teams.
  • Experience supporting software release cycles, including release planning, patch management, and hotfix deployment activities.
  • Certification in Agile or Scrum methodologies (such as Certified ScrumMaster or Professional Scrum Master) is considered an asset.
  • Understanding of GIS technologies and property assessment or parcel management business processes is considered an asset.
  • Esri Technical Certification in one or more relevant areas (such as ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript, or ArcGIS API for Python) is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Scrum principles and agile delivery practices.
  • Proven ability to organize work, manage competing priorities, and support delivery schedules.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a cross-functional product development environment.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to assist with the resolution of delivery issues and impediments.
  • Proven initiative in identifying opportunities to improve team effectiveness and delivery processes.
  • Knowledge of property assessment, property appraisal, parcel management, or municipal government business processes is considered an asset.
  • Bilingual proficiency (English / French) is considered an asset.

 

Compensation & Benefits:

At Esri Canada, we are committed to fair and competitive compensation. This role offers a base salary range of $86,900 to $103,200 annually, determined based on experience, skills, and internal equity.
