Senior GIS Project Manager, Prairies
Esri Canada has an exceptional opportunity for a Senior GIS Project Manager to join our Prairies Professionsal Services team.
Reporting to the Professional Services Manager, Prairies, this role plays a key part within Esri Canada’s Professional Services team by providing senior‑level project management and consulting expertise across complex, client‑facing delivery engagements. This role is responsible for leading the planning, execution, and successful delivery of enterprise‑level projects, ensuring outcomes align with client objectives, contractual commitments, and Esri Canada’s delivery standards.
Operating with a high degree of autonomy, the Senior Project Manager partners closely with clients, delivery teams, and internal stakeholders to manage scope, schedule, budget, risks, and quality across multiple initiatives. This role contributes to delivery excellence, client satisfaction, and continuous improvement within the Professional Services practice.
This role is fully remote within BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan or Manitoba.

Responsibilities:
- Lead end‑to‑end delivery of complex Professional Services projects, from initiation and planning through execution, close‑out, and post‑implementation review.
- Define, manage, and control project scope, schedules, budgets, resources, and deliverables in alignment with contractual and business objectives.
- Facilitate effective collaboration and decision‑making among cross‑functional stakeholders, including clients, consultants, technical teams, and leadership.
- Proactively identify, assess, and manage project risks, issues, and dependencies, developing mitigation strategies to support successful outcomes.
- Establish and apply project governance, reporting, and quality management practices to ensure consistency, transparency, and delivery excellence.
- Lead stakeholder communications, including status reporting, expectation management, and formal approvals of key milestones and deliverables.
- Support change management activities by identifying change impacts and guiding stakeholders through transitions as part of project delivery.
- Contribute to business development and client engagement activities, including project scoping, estimating, and proposal support, as required.
Supervision / Management of Human Resources:
- No direct reports.
- Provides project‑based direction and coordination for consultants, analysts, and technical resources assigned to delivery teams, including clarifying work assignments, timelines, and expectations within a matrix project environment.
Minimum Education Requirement:
- Post‑secondary degree or diploma in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, GIS, or a related field.
- An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
Minimum Experience and Training Requirement:
- Minimum 7 years of progressive project management experience, including delivery of complex, client‑facing projects.
- Demonstrated experience managing enterprise or large‑scale projects within a consulting or professional services environment.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is considered an asset.
Additional Requirements:
- Demonstrated expertise in applying project management methodologies, standards, and tools to complex delivery environments.
- Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and influence diverse stakeholder groups to achieve shared outcomes.
- Strong financial acumen, including experience managing project budgets, forecasting, and resource utilization.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and manage risks, issues, and change impacts across multiple concurrent initiatives.
- Excellent problem‑solving, decision‑making, and analytical skills.
- Proven facilitation, negotiation, and communication skills with both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining delivery quality and client satisfaction.
- Bilingual proficiency (English / French) considered an asset.
Compensation & Benefits:
At Esri Canada, we are committed to fair and competitive compensation. This role offers a base salary range of $102,600 to $123,500 annually determined based on experience, skills, and internal equity. We regularly benchmark across a variety of positions, industries and levels to ensure we remain competitive in the market.
