Senior Consultant, Federal Sector Services
Esri Canada has an exceptional opportunity for a Senior Consultant to join our Federal Sector Services team.
Reporting to the Director, Federal Sector Services, The Senior Consultant is a senior‑level individual contributor within Esri Canada’s Federal Sector Services group, accountable for providing consulting expertise, business analysis, and solution advisory services in support of federal government initiatives. The role operates with a high degree of autonomy, applying advanced professional judgment to interpret client requirements, shape solution approaches, and support the alignment of business needs with Esri technology, while contributing to consistent, high‑quality consulting practices within the federal sector.
This role is hybrid within the Ottawa region.

A Day in the Life of a Senior Consultant at Esri Canada:
- Lead complex federal government consulting engagements, supporting requirements analysis, solution definition, estimation, and delivery planning.
- Facilitate client workshops, interviews, and working sessions to elicit, analyze, and validate business and functional requirements.
- Translate business needs into clear, practical GIS solution approaches that align with delivery constraints and client objectives.
- Contribute to solution architecture and design activities in collaboration with technical leads and delivery teams.
- Develop and review consulting deliverables, including requirements documentation, solution designs, and implementation recommendations.
- Support project scoping and statement of work development in collaboration with project managers and sales teams.
- Identify delivery risks, dependencies, and constraints, and support mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycle.
- Contribute to proposal development, demonstrations, and responses to federal RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs.
Minimum Education Requirement:
- Post‑secondary degree or diploma in computer science, software engineering, information technology, geographic information systems (GIS), geomatics, engineering, or related field.
- An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
- Esri Technical Certification in one or more relevant areas (such as ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise, or related technologies) is considered an asset.
Minimum Experience and Training Requirement:
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant consulting or professional services experience, including experience supporting public‑sector or federal government clients.
- 5+ years professional experience with Esri technology including ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Pro and extensions.
- Experience leading or significantly contributing to complex client engagements involving business analysis, requirements definition, solution planning and delivery.
- Experience facilitating client workshops and working sessions to gather, analyze, and validate business and functional requirements.
- Experience translating business needs into practical, scalable GIS or enterprise solution approaches in collaboration with technical delivery teams.
- Experience contributing to project scoping, estimation, and statement of work development within a consulting delivery environment.
Additional Requirements:
- Must reside in the Ottawa/Gatineau region.
- Ability to attain Canadian Federal Government – Secret clearance, with priority given to candidates who already possess this level of clearance.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective consulting relationships with federal government clients and stakeholders.
- Proven capability to exercise sound professional judgment when interpreting complex client requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary delivery teams in a consulting or professional services environment.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills applied to complex business and operational challenges.
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining quality and meeting delivery commitments.
- Proven written, verbal, and presentation communication skills with both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Demonstrated professionalism, discretion, and ethical judgment when working in sensitive or regulated client environments.
- Bilingual proficiency (English / French) is considered an asset.
Compensation & Benefits:
At Esri Canada, we are committed to fair and competitive compensation. This role offers a base salary range of $102,000 to $121,800 annually, determined based on experience, skills, and internal equity.
