SAP Business Systems Specialist

Esri Canada has an exceptional opportunity for a Business Systems Analyst to join our IT Department.

Reporting to the Director, Business Applications, the SAP Business Systems Specialist plays a key role in the effective operation and continuous improvement of Esri Canada’s enterprise systems by leading business systems analysis and operational support related to business processes and enabling systems, including SAP and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC). This role supports day‑to‑day system operations and system change delivery, contributing to the reliability and scalability of enterprise system practices across the organization. Operating with a high degree of autonomy within assigned scope, the SAP Business Systems Specialist applies established business systems analysis expertise and partners with cross‑functional stakeholders to support well‑governed, efficient business operations and system‑enabled delivery.

This role is fully remote within Canada.

A Day in the life of a Business Systems Analyst at Esri Canada:

  • Serve as a primary support contact for SAP and SAC system operations, including configuration, reporting, issue investigation, and coordination of system changes.
  • Analyze currentstate and futurestate system workflows, configuration changes, and test evidence, collaborating with business stakeholders to identify gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities, and assess, apply, and document system change impacts across processes, data, reporting, and integrations.
  • Design and recommend scalable solutions that meet business requirements and align with SAP-recommended best practices for security, governance, and system performance.
  • Provide ongoing operational and technical support for SAP and SAC by investigating issues, identifying root cause and technical or process deficiencies, validating system data and processes, and implementing resolution.
  • Lead business systems analysis activities for SAP and SAC initiatives, including requirements elicitation, documentation, validation, and configuration with accountability for assigned deliverables.
  • Coordinate and manage intake, prioritization, and tracking of SAP and SAC system change requests, maintaining clear status updates and traceability from intake through delivery.
  • Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and operational readiness activities by validating functional designs and requirements against system capabilities and coordinating testing, issue resolution, and business signoff.
  • Support release readiness and change adoption activities, including communications, training materials, and postrelease validation to ensure successful implementation.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional partners to support integrated workflows and data alignment across SAP, SAC, and related enterprise systems.

 

    What you bring to the team:

  • Postsecondary degree or diploma in Business Analysis, Business Administration, Information Systems, Project Management, or a related field.
  • An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience supporting business systems and enterprise applications.
  • Demonstrated handson experience supporting SAP and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), including configuration, reporting, and systemenabled business processes.
  • Experience working with integrated enterprise systems, including data flows, controls, integrations, and reporting dependencies, with direct application in SAPbased environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead business systems analysis activities and translate operational and system needs into clear, actionable requirements and deliverables.
  • Proven experience supporting or administering enterprise business systems, including reporting, configuration support, and issue resolution.
  • Strong understanding of systemenabled business processes, operational workflows, and governance practices within an enterprise environment.
  • Proven analytical and problemsolving skills, with the ability to assess impacts, risks, and dependencies across people, process, data, and systems.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver highquality outputs with minimal supervision in a dynamic, systemenabled environment.
  • Bilingual proficiency (English / French) is considered an asset.

 

Compensation & Benefits:

At Esri Canada, we are committed to fair and competitive compensation. This role offers a base salary range of $86,900 to $103,200 annually, determined based on experience, skills, and internal equity.
