GIS Program Advisor, Advantage Program

 

Esri Canada has an exceptional opportunity for a GIS Program Advisor to join our Advantage Program

Reporting to the Practice Manager, Advantage Program, the person in this role will work with a wide variety of Esri Canada customers in various stages of geospatial maturity. Reporting to the Advantage Program (AP) Practice Manager, the Advisor will use their consultative experience and knowledge of Esri software to partner with AP customer stakeholders in defining and achieving their business and technical vision. The Advisor will lead a collaborative team analyzing customer objectives and designing a roadmap and solutions to meet the customer’s need.

 

In summary, the Advisor will function as a trusted partner with assigned AP customers. The Advisor will develop an understanding of the client’s business challenges, and work with customer stakeholders to ensure the client is leveraging Esri’s GIS technology with the intent to maximize their return on investment. The Advisor will apply their expert-level knowledge of Esri technology, coupled with proven strengths in consulting, communication, time management, advocacy and leadership to build exceptional business relationships with our AP customer base.

This role is fully remote within Canada.

 

 

 

 

A day in the life of a GIS Program Advisor at Esri Canada:

 

  • Identify customer vision, goals, and objectives to drive measurable outcomes.
  • Build strong customer relationships and serve as a trusted Esri Canada advisor.
  • Provide guidance on GIS strategies, architectures, product selection, and release planning, engaging additional Esri Canada experts when needed.
  • Assess user and business needs, develop implementation approaches and estimates, and recommend training or coaching to address knowledge gaps.
  • Deliver or coordinate technical presentations, workshops, and demonstrations.
  • Lead the creation of Task Orders and documentation, ensuring alignment with professional services best practices.
  • Support execution of Task Orders as required.
  • Perform light project management duties for small engagements.
  • Collaborate with Consultants, Solution Architects, and SMEs to complete program tasks.
  • Conduct annual planning sessions and maintain high level work plans for each customer.
  • Manage advisory hours and Learning & Service Credits to maximize customer value.
  • Hold monthly status meetings and prepare AP progress and internal reports.

 

What you bring to the team:

 

  • Minimum 3 years of consultative engagement experience with strong relationship building skills.
  • Proactive, creative, and team oriented, with strong problem solving abilities and the capacity to lead multidisciplinary teams.
  • 5+ years applying GIS concepts using Esri technology across diverse environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Esri Enterprise solutions across desktop, server, and web.
  • Proven ability to manage internal and external resources for small–medium projects.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent activities and effectively prioritize tasks.
  • Post secondary education in Geography, Geology, Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (MBA or GIS postgraduate certificate is an asset).
  • Skilled in business analysis, including requirements gathering and solution development.
  • Excellent time management, communication, and facilitation skills.
  • Occasional travel may be required.

 

 

Competencies in the following are essential:

 

  • Business Analysis experience – skilled in requirements elicitation, process modelling, business process improvement, knowledge transfer, meeting facilitation and support
  • Change Management experience - ability to plan, minimize disruption, and improve likeliness of customer success
  • Demonstrated awareness of emerging IT trends and directions

 

 

Considered as assets for this position are the following:

 

  • Industry expertise in Utilities, Public Health, Facility Management, Forestry, Energy, Resource, Public Safety, Transportation may be considered an asset and should be highlighted in the application
  • Experience working with the Indigenous Communities of Canada on GIS or geospatial initiatives
  • Bilingualism is an asset to support French and English-speaking clients across Canada 

 

 

 

Compensation & Benefits:

At Esri Canada, we are committed to fair and competitive compensation. This role offers a base salary range of $102,600 to $121,800 annually, determined based on experience, skills, and internal equity.
